The following rules are
intended for the welfare of the fish, the fishery and fellow anglers.
The fishery is intended to be operated as a friendly environment and not as a
regime, however, we do expect the anglers co-operation in following these rules.
1. RODS : You are allowed a maximum of 3 rods for fishing at any time and must
not be left unattended.
2. RIGS & HOOKS : Please only use rigs that are "fish friendly",
no fixed lead, tether or bent hook rigs are allowed (includes Naylor long
shank).
Rigs must allow fish to free themselves in the event of breakage.
Barbless hooks only to be used.
3. LINE : It is recommended that a minimum breaking strain of 12lbs is used,
braided line or lead core not to be used.
4. SACKING OF FISH : Fish may only be sacked for a short time while assistance
is required for taking photographs.
No overnight sacking of fish is allowed, we know of several fatalities of large
carp at other lakes and do not intend that this will happen to our fish.
5. UNHOOKING MATS : Large unhooking mats are compulsory.
6. FISH WELFARE : Anglers are requested to bring a bottle of Klinik (or
equivalent) with them for treatment to any damaged fish.
7. BAIT BOATS : You may use bait boats providing that they are used sensibly and
with regard to the other anglers at the lake.
8. ON SITE BOAT : This is available for the use of the anglers in the event of
fish being snagged.
9. OPEN BARBECUES : We are unable to allow open barbecues due to the high fire
risk. Calor gas, camping gas or Coleman stoves are allowed, though care must be
taken in using these.
10. LITTER : Plastic sacks will be supplied.
11. BAIT : In order to ensure that the fishery is not spoilt and also that
consideration is given to subsequent anglers, it should not be necessary to use
more than 10 kilos of boilies and 25 kilos of particles per angler per week.
Particle baits only to be purchased on site
12. GUESTS : Anglers may be accompanied by a non-angling guest at a charge of £30
per week. We consider that the fishery is not suitable for young children.
13. ARRIVALS : - Anglers are advised to arrive on site at 11.30 a.m. on the
Saturday.
14. DEPARTURES :- Fishing will
close at 10 a.m. each Saturday.
15. OTHER RULES : Other minor common sense regulations will be advised on your
arrival.
