The lakes were designed and constructed by one of the locals just over 20 years ago and never used it for angling just a peaceful retreat, so all fish have never seen a hook. The main carp lake is 5 acres in size and of varying depths. The shallows are between 2 and 3 feet and the deepest being 12 feet. The bottom of the lake consists of mainly gravel with very little silt or weed, the lake is virtually snag free. The water quality is superb and the lake bed has a good natural food source (we even have swan mussels on the lake bed). Also the lake has a number of features, the main one is the island which segregates the lake into a horseshoe like shape, there are 2 large historic boulders on the wider side, bull-rushes and we are also establishing a lily pad bed which will enhance another part of the lake to attract more of the wonderful wild life.

We have tried to keep the grounds as natural as possible so the angler and the fish both benefit.
